Hi there! I'm Lisa Changadveja. I'm a queer Thai American with a day job focused on elections but in my free time, I've authored, illustrated, and published five children's books.
I'm the daughter of Thai immigrants and was raised in rural Helen, Georgia, USA. Growing up in Helen, my Thai upbringing was very subtle and mostly focused on assimilating into the white, American culture of the South. Over a decade ago, I was cleaning out my mom's foreclosed home and was shocked to discover I had a Thai passport as a baby. After a trek to the Thai embassy and many trips to Thailand since, as an adult, I've been discovering my Thai heritage.
I split my time between Los Angeles, CA and Thailand. My hobbies include riding motorcycles, petting cats, painting, sewing, building things, and volunteering with kids.
